Domain 4

Domain IV:  Professional Responsibilities 2011-2012

4b) Maintaining Accurate Records

  • Supporting Goal
    • I will strive to maintain accurate records of my students' work throughout the entire school year.
  • Plan
    • I will use a record book and Power Teacher (where applicable) to keep accurate student records of pre-assessments, post assessments, anecdotal notes,  homework, assignments, etc.
  • Evidence
    • I have a record book divided up into sections for each individual subject.  I also have a section for reading calendars, homework, and other various assignments.  For each student I record their pre-assessments, post assessments, and other important information that will help guide me in their instruction as well as to help me record their grades for SEP's.  I am currently learning how to record student scores on Power School for student report cards.

4c)  Communicating with Families

  • Supporting Goal
    • I will provide families with important information regarding our class and their student's individual needs throughout the school year.
  • Plan
    • I plan on having a class blog that I will update often, and a class newsletter that is sent home on a weekly basis.  I will also provide parents with my contact information and let them know that they are always more than welcome to call me or to come in and visit at the classroom.  Each family will know that I have an open door policy and they are welcome to stop by and observe or help anytime they can.
  • Evidence

4f)  Showing Professionalism

  • Supporting Goal
    • I will play an active role in my PLC, in-service trainings,  and in our weekly staff meetings.
  • Plan
    • I can attend weekly PLC meetings on time and be prepared for each meeting with the materials we need to have to discuss the needs of each individual student.  I can also attend our weekly staff and in-service meetings with an open mind and take the items we discuss and implement them into my daily teaching where applicable.
  • Evidence
    • I have played an active role in my PLC by providing each teacher on the team with weekly flip charts for our Treasures program and with flip charts for our Growing With Math reviews.  I have also made an effort to show professionalism in my in-service meetings by taking the information we are taught and implementing it in my classroom where applicable.  Each week I also attend our staff meetings and maintain a positive attitude to help promote the well-being of our school.

Domain IV:  Professional Responsibilities 2012-2013

Supporting Goal (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e, 4f)-  I will continue to build on the goals from Domain 4 that I set last year and will work on completing 4a, 4d, 4e this school year.

Plan:  I will reflect daily on my teaching experiences and make notes on what went well and what I can improve upon.  I will work together with my PLC team as well as my other colleagues to make sure that we create the best learning opportunities for each of the students.  I will participate in professionally development activities and will strive to be learning and growing in the teaching profession.

Evidence:  I made phone calls home to my students parents on a regular basis.  I also kept in contact with families through my weekly newsletter and my class blog.  This helped to make sure that the families of my students were engaged in the instructional program of their student through open lines of communication.

My PLC met weekly and we strived to meet the individual needs of each of the students through interventions and small group instruction.

I participated in several learning walks, PLC meetings, RTI meetings, as well as serving on several school committees throughout the school year.  I also became involved with a STEM Cohort to help learn the best ways to implement the technology available to me at our school.
